Job Description

An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support high school students in 9th and 10th grades on a contract basis for the current school year in the Irwin, PA area. This role involves working with a diverse caseload of students requiring specialized instruction and emotional support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instructional programs for students with autism, learning disabilities, and emotional support needs.
• Manage a caseload of up to 25 students, currently at 22, to provide effective educational and behavioral strategies.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student progress.
• Maintain compliance with IEP requirements and document student performance.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Valid Pennsylvania Instructional I or II teaching certification in Special Education for grades 9-12 is required; K-12 certification is preferred.
• Experience working with high school students, particularly in special education settings.
• Ability to engage and support students with diverse learning and emotional needs.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Location:

• High school setting within the Irwin, PA region.

Schedule:

• Contract position with at least 35 hours per week.
