Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Spanish Teacher for grades 6 through 12 to join our dynamic faculty. The ideal candidate is committed to cultivating a love for the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures, while supporting students in developing reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills at a high academic level.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with state standards and school curriculum

• Create a positive and respectful classroom culture that promotes learning and student engagement

• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including heritage and non-heritage speakers

• Incorporate technology and interactive methods to enhance language instruction

• Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments

• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents

• Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and parent communication

• Participate in school-wide events, professional development, and collaborative planning sessions

• Uphold the mission and values of Mater Biscayne Middle & High School

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field (Master's preferred)

• Valid Florida Teaching Certification in Spanish (Grades 6–12) or eligibility to obtain one

• Demonstrated fluency in Spanish and strong command of grammar and language mechanics

• Previous teaching experience at the middle and/or high school level preferred

• Strong classroom management and communication skills

• Commitment to fostering a culturally inclusive and respectful environment

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with Cambridge or AP Spanish curriculum

• Experience working with English Language Learners and multicultural student populations

• Willingness to lead extracurricular activities or clubs related to Spanish language and culture
