Job Description
We are seeking an Art Therapist (Contractor) for a position at a State Hospital in El Paso Texas.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Performs routine (journey-level) habilitation or rehabilitation therapy work. Work involves providing clients with therapeutic art rehabilitation activities. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Scope of Services to be Performed
1. Delivers Art therapeutic treatments to clients.
2. Instructs clients in rehabilitation art therapy techniques.
3. Assigns therapeutic activities to clients and reports reactions.
4. Document therapeutic services in Hospital program such as Avatar.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Experience in therapeutic rehabilitation work. Graduation from an accredited college or university program with major coursework in one of the recognized therapeutic rehabilitation activities is generally preferred. Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of therapy principles and techniques. Skill in the use of rehabilitation and orthopedic equipment, materials, and tools; in the repair of rehabilitation therapy equipment; and in the use of a computer and applicable software. Ability to plan therapy programs, to
develop and conduct assessments, and to communicate effectively.
REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION, OR LICENSURE
Must be a licensed/certified therapist, and in good standing.
