Job Description

Our client, an award-winning manufacturer serving the U.S. military and global defense sector, is seeking a Commercial Contracts Specialist to join their team onsite at their Bristol, PA manufacturing facility.

In this role, you’ll take ownership of contract negotiations and redlining, working with terms and conditions, NDAs, Teaming Agreements, PIAs, and other business arrangements. You’ll collaborate closely with commercial customers, government entities, prime contractors, and international partners to ensure timely, favorable, and compliant outcomes. You’ll manage the full contract lifecycle—from proposal preparation and risk assessment through execution, compliance monitoring, and post-delivery follow-up.

This high-accountability role is part of a long-term succession plan and offers direct mentorship from experienced contract and legal professionals. It’s a strong fit for someone with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment—reviewing, redlining, negotiating, and managing commercial and international contracts—who is ready to level up and take on greater ownership.

If you’ve worked with manufactured products that are quoted, built to order, delivered, and invoiced to both commercial and government entities, and know how to identify and mitigate risks in contract terms—we’d love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and redline commercial and international contract terms, mitigating risks related to warranty, indemnity, insurance, limitation of liability, consequential damages, risk of loss, delivery and acceptance, ownership, force majeure, termination, and payment provisions.
  • Conduct risk assessments and help develop negotiation strategies aligned with company policy.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to gather documentation, drive approvals, and support contract execution and amendments.
  • Work directly with commercial customers, U.S. Government Contracting Officers, and international representatives to maintain relationships and resolve contract issues.
  • Track and support compliance with export licenses, government permits (e.g., ATF, DDTC, DOT, SAM), and assist with renewal applications.
  • Manage contract files and ensure all documentation and correspondence are up to date.
  • Monitor invoicing and payment status; follow up on unpaid invoices and support AR reporting.
  • Provide input on proposals and quotations; ensure timely responses and submissions.
  • Assist with audits, process improvements, and tracking of government or customer-owned property.
  • Ensure adherence to FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and internal contracting policies.
  • Support transition of institutional knowledge from long-tenured staff and contribute to the continued development of the contracts function.

Requirements:

  • 5–8 years of experience reviewing Terms & Conditions, NDAs, and Teaming Agreements within a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, government-furnished equipment (GFE), and government-owned equipment and property (GFP).
  • Familiar with fixed price and cost-plus contract structures.
  • Confident in reviewing and redlining legal and commercial terms for risk, such as warranty, indemnity, limitation of liability, risk of loss, and payment terms.
  • Comfortable interfacing with external partners and internal cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented and responsive with excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Experienced in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communicator, both written and verbal, with a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with contract management tools is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for security clearance.

Location: Bristol, PA

Onsite Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Salary Range: $100K+ depending on experience
