We are seeking a Roofing Estimator to join our growing team. This role involves assessing residential and commercial roofing projects, preparing precise estimates, and collaborating with homeowners, business owners, builders, and insurance adjusters. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, knowledgeable about roofing systems, and skilled in both customer relations and sales.

Additionally, this position will play a key role in refining our estimating processes by enhancing checklists, templates, estimate comments, and workflows in Excel and our estimating CRM. As we continue to grow, we need an efficient, scalable, and repeatable estimating systemand we're looking for someone to help build it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site visits to inspect roofs and gather data for accurate estimates.
  • Provide detailed cost estimates for roofing, gutters, skylights, and attic ventilation projects.
  • Assist in creating and revising estimates for residential new construction, retail, and storm restoration projects.
  • Perform project takeoffs using plan sets and satellite measurement tools to determine material quantities and job requirements.
  • Review and interpret insurance claims, including estimates generated through Xactimate (training provided).
  • Identify and evaluate bid opportunities, assisting in the expansion of our commercial and residential client base.
  • Work with clients, insurance adjusters, and internal teams to ensure accurate scopes of work, estimates, and supplements.
  • Develop and refine estimating checklists, templates, standard estimate comments, and workflows to improve efficiency.
  • Streamline the estimating process by implementing best practices and standardization.
  • Educate clients on roofing solutions, materials, and warranties.
  • Collaborate with project managers, production teams, and suppliers to ensure accurate pricing and job planning.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, material innovations, and local building codes.
  • Track and report sales performance and pipeline activity in the company CRM.

  • Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience in roofing estimation, sales, or project management (preferred).
  • Knowledge of roofing systems (shingle, metal, TPO, etc.), gutters, skylights, and attic ventilation.
  • Ability to perform material takeoffs from plan sets and satellite measurement tools.
  • Ability to read blueprints, interpret insurance paperwork, and understand Xactimate (training provided).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience using Excel and CRM systems to develop estimating tools, templates, and workflows (preferred).
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Comfortable using digital tools, CRM software, and estimation software.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally for site visits.
