Controls Engineer
Location: Allentown, Pennsylvania

A dynamic engineering firm is seeking a Controls Engineer to join its team and contribute to delivering impactful automation solutions across a wide range of manufacturing industries. Position Overview

The Controls Engineer will join a project team focused on delivering automation solutions to industrial clients. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, developing, and documenting systems that meet customer specifications.

  • Leading project teams to ensure high-quality deliverables.

  • Collaborating with customers on-site and remotely to present work and develop creative solutions.

  • Traveling to client facilities to implement and test control systems.

  • Meeting with project managers, subject matter experts, and business leaders to monitor project status and strategize for successful outcomes.

  • Mentoring junior engineers in control systems concepts and project methodologies.

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in one of the following: Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Bioengineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with control systems in manufacturing environments.

  • Proficiency with PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, and MES technologies.

  • Solid understanding of process control and manufacturing workflows.

  • Demonstrated success in delivering end-to-end projects.

  • Ability to manage a project through its full lifecycle.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Proficiency with standard business applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).

  • Professional demeanor and collaborative work style.

  • Flexibility to work outside standard hours when required.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • Willingness to comply with drug screening and background check requirements as necessary for employment or client contracts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.

  • Certifications from relevant industry technology partners.
