We are currently seeking a Corporate Underwriter in Chicago, IL. The Corporate Underwriter supports the Risk & Insurance department by acting as a Surety Agent and assessing corporate contractual risk for the company.

Responsibilities

• Assesses owner contractual risk on behalf of the company, with communication to Travelers, for all owner contracts
• Identifies to senior staff and project sponsorship all contractual risk that does not fit into the companys acceptable risk profile
• Educates employees and facilitates conversations with clients on contractual risk management
• Ensures adherence to company policies and bidding procedures and verifies that the underwriting process takes place
• Maintains relationships with Business Group Leaders, Project Managers, Chief Estimators, and Program Managers
• Communicates all necessary data to bonding company concerning bonds and invoices.
• Maintains Powers of Attorney for Travelers
• Manages the approvals for AEW for all projects/situations below the $70MM authority line provided by Travelers to the Agency

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree required. Insurance License preferred.
• 1 2 years of relevant experience is required. Some experience in a legal environment is a plus
• Some travel may be necessary
• This is an onsite position and located in our corporate office in Chicago, IL
• Salary Range: $66,000 - $99,000/Yr.
