You’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the Illinois Medicaid program —designing SQL-based data solutions, guiding business requirements, and leading development efforts that directly impact care delivery and public program success. What You’ll Do

• Develop complex SQL queries to support Medicaid data warehousing, reporting, and analytics.
• Analyze current-state business processes and systems; document requirements for new solutions.
• Lead and contribute to documentation, testing, and validation of Medicaid-related data systems.
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to align on use cases, data rules, and quality standards.
• Provide guidance to analysts on profiling tasks; review results and interpret for compliance with CMS and state guidelines.
• Support user acceptance testing (UAT) by developing test scenarios, tracking defects, and confirming resolution.
• Collaborate across teams to identify, document, and resolve data anomalies.
• Create clear, professional presentations and contribute to updating operational guides and project documentation.
• Stay accessible to the team and help manage competing priorities with flexibility and professionalism.
  
   

Requirements

  Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of healthcare business analysis experience with a focus on data, documentation, and system testing
• 4+ years of direct experience working with State Medicaid and CHIP programs , including federal reporting (CMS 64/21, T-MSIS, PERM)
• 5+ years of hands-on experience writing complex SQL
• Strong understanding of Medicaid/Medicare policy , managed care, and health insurance operations
• Proven experience communicating effectively with executive and leadership-level stakeholders
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects independently in a fast-paced, consulting environment
• Strong skills in time management, documentation, problem-solving, and business process analysis
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience using Informatica PowerCenter for data extraction
• Experience with data integration planning , Agile methodologies, and software enhancement lifecycles
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps , SharePoint , MS Project , and Visio
