The Elite Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs and recommends products and services. The Elite Stylist delivers quality professional services with an emphasis on the guest’s total look. They support the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM) and focus on performance (service sales and productivity), people (guest service), and process (operating procedures and compliance standards). A passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and the ability to learn and communicate product knowledge are required. Principal Duties & Responsibilities Perform hair services including hair design, haircuts, color, texture, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable). Meet or exceed sales goals (e.g., average weekly sales targets for hair services) and contribute to store goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and related metrics. Perform product demonstrations with guests to drive sales and enhance the guest service experience. Support the execution of in-store events, promotions and marketing initiatives that deliver an unrivaled guest experience. Stay informed on new and existing industry trends, products, and services; understand ingredients and benefits to better serve guests. Maintain prompt, regular attendance. People Develop guest relationships through consultations and appropriate retail and service recommendations. Serve all guests, including walk-in guests, in a timely and efficient manner. Collaborate with skin therapists and the retail team to provide a total-store guest experience. Establish professional relationships with peers and brand partners to deliver exceptional guest service. Share the benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, with guests. Attend mandatory trainings and meetings for continuous professional development. Process Follow Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards. Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures; ensure compliance with state board guidelines. Adhere to established service protocols to ensure a consistent and exceptional guest experience. Utilize booking and clientele systems to book guests for return services and events. Communicate supply needs to the EM to ensure guest readiness at all times. Maintain store operational standards, including cleanliness of the salon, salesfloor, restrooms, backroom, break area, and any assigned areas. Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code. Protect company assets by following loss prevention practices and providing exceptional guest service. Execute other operational tasks as directed. Job Qualifications Education Cosmetology license Experience Previous relevant work experience is required Skills Proficiency with latest salon techniques for hair cutting, hair color, styling, texture, treatments, extensions, makeup and ear piercing (where applicable); ability to develop skills in all service categories. Proficiency with equipment and chemicals needed to perform technical work. Proficiency to demonstrate, recommend and sell professional hair care and makeup products. Developed communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and clientele. Special Position Requirements Work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Working Conditions Continuous mobility during shift Continuous lifting and/or moving up to 10 lbs. during shift Frequent bending, reaching, and twisting during shift Ability to stand for long periods of time during shift Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects during shift The pay range for this position is $22.00 per hour, with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn services pay pursuant to the Company’s Services Compensation Plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business needs. Eligible associates may also earn overtime pay as required by applicable law and tips paid by service guests.
