Embedded Firmware and Hardware Engineer

StethX   is seeking a motivated engineer to join our vibrant startup team in Atlanta, GA. The Embedded Firmware and Hardware Engineer will interface with a fast-paced R&D team supporting design, development, characterization, validation testing and report writing. As a StethX team member, you will be joining us in an entrepreneurial and collaborative environment to develop the next-generation MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical systems) inertial and acoustic sensors for medical and defense applications. Position Responsibilities:

Design, test and characterization of embedded systems for sensor applications. Perform characterization and design validation by testing MEMS devices, ASICs, including screening, microscope imaging, measurements and creating summary reports. The intended tasks and duties include:

• Test and characterization of MEMS and ASIC components
• Embedded system design (microcontrollers, FPGA)
• Design and layout of PCB boards
• Develop test and data acquisition methods for product evaluation
• Perform product testing and documentation
• Provide direct oral and written communication updates regarding activities
• Work independently and collaboratively

Postion Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with embedded electronic systems
• Familiarity with microelectronics test environment preferred
• Experience with manual board rework and final PCB assembly techniques required
• PCB layout and design
• Experience with electrical characterization techniques (CV, impedance measurements, etc.) preferred
• Experience with operating oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers a plus
• Experience in using probe stations and wirebonders preferred
• MEMS and semiconductor device test experience is desirable
• Experience with Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint and Excel) required
• Experience with Python, MatLab, LabZView, C++ and/or Visual Basic required
