Job Description

Our client, a leading global chemical company, is seeking a EHS Specialist to join their growing team!

Pay: $75,000 - $85,000/yr

Location: Ashtabula, OH

Shift: 1st shift

Responsibilities:

• Work with management and employees to promote a strong safety culture and address
• concerns.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS programs and initiatives that align with the organization's goals and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety laws and
• regulations.
• Design and conduct EHS training programs for employees at all levels to promote a strong safety
• culture.
• Ensure all employees are aware of EHS policies and procedures.
• Lead investigations of workplace incidents, near misses, and environmental incidents.
• Analyze findings to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and audits of workplace practices and environmental
• compliance. Identify potential hazards and implement appropriate controls.
• Oversee waste management and environmental compliance activities, ensuring proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
• At least three years of experience in environmental health and safety roles in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations and standards (OSHA, EPA, DOT).
