Position Title: Facilities Manager
Location: Administration Offices | Clermont County Public Library
Status: Full-Time, Exempt | Pay Grade 7
Reports To: Director

About the Role

Are you an experienced facilities leader who takes pride in keeping buildings running safely, smoothly, and efficiently? We're looking for a Facilities Manager to effectively oversee the maintenance and operations of the Clermont County Public Library's buildings, grounds, materials delivery, vehicles, furnishings, and associated equipment.

This role is both hands-on and strategic-perfect for someone who combines practical expertise in managing buildings with experience in maintenance and/or construction. The ideal candidate has a passion for leading teams and managing projects, and is forward-thinking to shape the spaces that serve our community. As Facilities Manager, you'll help ensure our library system is safe, functional, and welcoming-where the community can gather, learn, and thrive every day and into the future.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee buildings, grounds, materials delivery, vehicles, furnishings, and associated equipment maintenance across all Library locations, including capital planning and implementation.
• Supervise and develop facilities staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
• Coordinate and inspect work performed by vendors and contractors for repairs, construction, and renovation projects.
• Develop and manage the facilities budget, including forecasting costs, monitoring expenditures, and identifying cost-effective solutions.
• Ensure timely completion of preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs related to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural systems.
• Maintain compliance with safety standards, building codes, ADA requirements, and other applicable regulations.
• Respond to emergencies and ensure facilities are safe, secure, and operational at all times.
• Collaborate with Library leadership to develop short- and long-term facilities plans.

What You Bring

• Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience: Minimum five years of experience in commercial building management, construction, maintenance, repairs, or troubleshooting-preferably in the public sector.
• Leadership: At least two years of supervisory experience with proven ability to lead and motivate staff.
• Technical Expertise: Knowledge of building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general construction; ability to interpret blueprints and building codes.
• Preferred: HVAC experience and/or related certifications.
• Budgeting Skills: Demonstrated experience creating and managing budgets and tracking expenditures.
• Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and customer service skills.
• Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and facility management systems.
• License: Valid driver's license with excellent driving record.
• Flexibility: Ability to work days, evenings, weekends, and respond to emergencies as needed.
