Requisition ID 40481BR Job Title FEMA - Costing Specialist Group WAF Field Mod Fringe Employment Type Temporary Job Description The FEMA Costing Specialist conducts preliminary damage assessments (PDAs) in the field for infrastructure projects, prepares complex project worksheets to determine eligibility, scopes of work and estimate costs, reviews and analyzes applicant cost claims for reasonableness, researches and updates equipment rates, develops cost estimates using RS Means software, may coordinate site inspections to validate and record damage for FEMA Public Assistance grant delivery, must be a U.S. citizen and obtain a FEMA Badge, performs other duties as required. Minimum Qualifications HS Diploma or equivalent. 5 years of in-field experience or 2 years of in-field experience with a bachelor’s degree. Domestic travel is required. Skills and Abilities Must be a U.S. citizen and obtain a FEMA Badge, which includes a background investigation for a Public Trust position. Familiar with estimating tools such as RS Means. Knowledge of FEMA’s Cost Estimating Format (CEF) is a plus. Demonstrates good organizational skills to balance and prioritize work. Strong attention to detail.
