Job Description

We are seeking a Flight Software Engineer for our client in Denver, Colorado. This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity to contribute to the design and development of advanced flight software supporting satellite missions. Job Summary As part of the Flight Software team, you will develop real-time software components for satellite mission programs and support the full lifecycle from concept to on-orbit performance. You’ll help shape scalable and modular flight software architectures, contribute to system-level design efforts, and support hardware-software integration and testing. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and test flight software for real-time operating systems Build modular and scalable flight software architecture to support multiple missions Participate in defining system and sub-system requirements, interface design, and functional analysis Rapidly prototype software to validate designs and support hardware-in-the-loop development Collaborate with internal and external development teams Troubleshoot software and system-level issues, including software-hardware interfaces Support system-level integration, validation, and verification activities Qualifications Proficiency in C and modern C++ development Experience with or strong interest in Rust Familiarity with Python, Java, bash, Linux, and Git Interest in software/hardware integration Minimum 4 years of professional software engineering experience Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field Motivation to get your code flying in space Salary Range $105,000 – $135,000 annually, based on experience Benefits Flexible work arrangements including hybrid and 9/75 scheduling Private healthcare coverage Life insurance and long-term sick pay Relocation assistance available Access to modern office and cleanroom facilities 401(k) savings plan and employee stock purchase options Work/life assistance program Paid time off (PTO) By applying for this job, you agree to receive calls, AI-generated calls, text messages, or emails from HEPCO, Inc and its affiliates, and contracted partners.
