Job Description

As a Foundry Core & Molding Supervisor you will work closely with other supervisors, quality, engineering, and maintenance to plan & facilitate continued, smooth, and safe operation of the foundry (Core, Melt, Mold, & Grind) production operations. The incumbent is required to possess practical knowledge applicable to the job as necessary for the proper functioning of the department. This position requires administrative skills in dealing with a wide range of problems on the line management level. The successful functioning of the core room and molding department depends on astute placing of personnel, proper utilization of equipment & materials, being ever alert for new methods of operation and maintaining harmonious relations within and between departments. Duties frequently involve coordination with other departments and outside vendors. Problem solving is largely concerned with the most effective use of personnel and equipment to achieve desired results and meet established schedules. The incumbent is responsible for obtaining effective production output, ensuring continued production operations, while ensuring the safety of production employees. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and healthy work environment consistent with established policies & procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that employees are working in a safe responsible manner and following process instructions
  • Verify that daily schedules and job tickets are present
  • Monitor inventory levels
  • Assist molders and core makers as needed
  • Ensure all cores are ready for molding
  • Verify the quality of the molds
  • Ensure that daily production is completed
  • Report pattern and quality problems to the appropriate departments
  • Ensure that weekly cleaning up and preparation are completed

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High School, GED or equivalent education and 5+ year’s foundry experience required, preferably in a supervisory role
  • Ability to work SAFELY by following policies and procedures in an industrial environment
  • Computer literate in MS Office Products; Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Possess a valid driver’s license

The base salary range for this position is $65,000 - $85,000, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note that hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
