Job Description

A specialized opportunity for Math Special Education Teachers serving grades 6-12 is available at a focused middle school environment in Washington, PA. This contract position spans the full school year and emphasizes academic instruction within a special needs setting.

Qualified educators will apply their expertise to both classroom teaching and case management. Candidates should have a Pennsylvania Special Education (6-12) certificate, with a strong preference for those also holding a Math (6-12) certification. Experience managing behavior plans is advantageous, although the student body does not typically include aggressive behaviors. The student population primarily consists of individuals with autism spectrum disorders and learning disabilities. These students are placed here when public school districts cannot adequately meet their specialized needs.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering targeted math instruction tailored to special education requirements for grades 6-12.
• Developing and implementing individualized educational programs and behavior plans.
• Managing student cases to coordinate services and track educational progress.
• Collaborating with support staff and families to foster a supportive learning environment.
• Maintaining detailed documentation for compliance and progress reporting.
