Provides direct patient care under the guidance of the Registered Nurse or designated health care professional in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and within the policies, procedures, guidelines of Bon Secours Mercy Health. Essential Job Functions include providing basic patient care such as care and comfort, recording vital signs, personal care and hygiene, and mobility, including unit based specialty duties. Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns. Provides high level customer service to patients, families, visitors, and employees. Provides accurate, precise, timely documentation for patient care. Uses professional verbal and written communication skills. Requires recent experience in acute care, physician's office, home health/hospice, or long term care facility, preferably in the setting applied for. Required skills include communication, understanding healthcare team directions, knowledge of safety standards, infection prevention, clerical duties, team dynamics, patient data collection, basic hygiene, feeding, hydration, nutrition, elimination, ambulation, use of clinical technology, compassionate care, accountability, and escalation of concerns. Certifications required include BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain prior to direct patient care) and completion of nursing aide training or equivalent experience. Education: None. Shift/Schedule: Full Time - Scheduled for 36 Weekly Hours, Day/Evening Shift, scheduled shifts every other weekend.
