Overview The Lead Network Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s network infrastructure, ensuring that the network is robust, secure, scalable, and optimized to support business operations. In this leadership role, the Lead Network Engineer will manage a team of network engineers, mentor junior staff, and provide strategic direction for network-related projects. This position requires advanced technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex network environments across data centers, offices, and remote locations. The Lead Network Engineer will report to the Project Manager and provide leadership to the Network Engineering team. This role is onsite in DC and we are only considering candidates that have an active Top Secret clearance and live within a 50 mile radius of DC. No agency inquiries are accepted. Responsibilities Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s network infrastructure. Ensure network robustness, security, scalability, and optimization to support business operations. Provide leadership to the Network Engineering team, mentor junior staff, and guide network-related projects. Manage and operate complex network environments across data centers, offices, and remote locations. Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to align network strategy with business goals. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field (experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, with a total of 14+ years). Active Top Secret Clearance or equivalent. Advanced technical expertise in network engineering. Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage complex network environments. Certifications and training (or equivalents): MCSE Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert Microsoft Certifications and Applied Skills CCNP CCSP CCNA Formal installation and programming training for current versions of CCure and Genetec CompTIA Network+ CompTIA A+ Azure Database Administrator Associate Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals Formal SharePoint Certifications or demonstrated experience ITIL Foundations Company Description Edgewater Federal Solutions is a privately held government contracting firm located near Frederick, MD.
