Job Summary and Qualifications The Nurse Manager assumes 24-hour responsibility for planning, supervising, and evaluating the care of patients to ensure comprehensive and continuous care for each patient/family in the unit and shift of responsibility, which involves management and responsibilities for diverse categories of personnel for patient care. The Nurse Manager position requires in-depth productivity management, knowledge of management principles, communication, teaching/learning principles, nursing practice, and the ability to apply nursing theories. - You will apply nursing innovation methods, evidence based practice and technology in collaboration with the director and as appropriate for unit of responsibility.
- You will demonstrate flexibility and adapts to change and innovations in patient care delivery and motivate staff to provide high-quality compassionate patient care.
- You will maintain current knowledge of nursing leadership and clinical practice and serve as a positive and professional role model to the nursing staff.
- You will hold staff accountable to safe and high-quality patient care and routinely evaluate clinical practice against the standards and patient satisfaction scores.
- You will coordinate patient flow, staff assignments and act as a resource for clinical activities and monitors staff compliance to assure clinical quality.
- You will give recommendations on the skills mix and appropriate staffing levels in cooperation with the Nursing Director and adhere to budget parameters for overall unit operational cost control.
What qualifications you will need: - Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. BSN required, MSN preferred
- Valid California RN license
- Current BCLS certification
- National RN Certification preferred.
- Minimum two years in an acute care management position
Riverside Community Hospital is a large acute care facility with 517 beds, established in 1901. It has the most extensive Emergency Room and Level I Trauma Center in the Inland Empire region and is the primary recipient of STEMI (heart attack) cases in Riverside County. The hospital is accredited as a Chest Pain Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center and has a HeartCare Institute that offers both invasive and non-invasive cardiac procedures. Riverside has a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, which it is very proud of.
