Join the team at the Uintah and Ouray Health Clinic, an Indian Health Service facility located in Fort Duchesne, as a long-term contract Medical Biller. We are seeking a skilled individual with Medical Office experience to serve as a Medical Billing Assistant. In this role, you will play a vital part in our fast-paced Family Medical Clinic by managing patient billing, payments, and insurance claims, while also providing clinical and administrative support to healthcare professionals. • Family Health Clinic, Medical Biller/Medical Assistant
• Up to a 1-year contract, with extension option
• Full-Time hours, 8-hour day shifts
• Monday through Friday 8am-5pm
• 11 paid Federal Holidays, Health Insurance options
• Basic Life Support CLS certification is required
• Medical Billing and CMA Certification preferred
• Onsite
• Previous IHS experience preferred
• Adult and Pediatric

Responsibilities:

- Create invoices for medical procedures

- Submit insurance claims

- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials

- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility

- Maintain accurate patient records

- Communicate with Patients and Insurance companies to resolve billing issues

- Perform Medical Assistant duties and basic medical procedures under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider

Indian Preference Exercised:

Prairie Band, LLC is subject to Title 22: Employment Code of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. In accordance with Title 22, this position is designated as a TIER 2 position. Preference will be given to individuals to the extent required pursuant to Section 22-2-4(B).

Requirements:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• 2-3 Years of Experience in a medical office environment
• 2 years of Medical Billing & Medical Assistant experience needed
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
• Certified/licensed Medical Assistant Certificate Preferred
• Degree or diploma programs in medical billing and coding Preferred
• Current certification in BLS (Basic Life Support) Required
• Certifications and licenses must be active, unrestricted, and free of disciplinary action in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent computer and organizational skills Required
• Must be a US Citizen
• Must be willing to submit to a federal background check
