Job Overview:
MetroSys is seeking experienced Cisco Network Engineers to support a major switch preparedness project as part of an ISE/NAC implementation (no ISE configuration experience required). This is a 12-month, onsite contract role supporting a healthcare client in San Diego, CA . Candidates must have deep hands-on experience with Cisco switches in large, complex environments and be comfortable working in clinical and administrative areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and stage Cisco switches to support upcoming ISE/NAC deployment.
• Execute physical installations, configurations, and validations of network switches.
• Collaborate with internal IT and clinical teams to ensure seamless network updates.
• Document work completed, port mappings, and device configurations.
• Support network troubleshooting as needed during and post-deployment.
• Ensure healthcare compliance and minimize impact to patient care systems during work.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco switching technologies (Catalyst, Nexus).
• Strong understanding of VLANs, port security, and access control.
• Familiarity with healthcare IT environments and HIPAA-compliant practices is a plus.
• Ability to travel to different buildings/sites in San Diego as needed.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP) preferred but not required.
