Top 3 Skills:

1) 2-4 years hands on experience CONFIGURING routers/switches (Switch work is primarily layer 2 with minor layer 3) - Must be able to configure a switch out of the box

2) Troubleshooting network connectivity issues: Candidates must be able to troubleshoot complex issues that may arise related to network infrastructure

3) Candidate must have experience with one of the following four OEM (route/switch): Cisco (9300 switches is what they are using but 3850 is all that's required), Brocade (Extreme/Ruckus), Juniper, and Aruba (Hewlett Packard).

**Active DoD Secret Clearance Required (Cannot hold a TS)

IAT II Requirements: Must have Sec+ or higher

 

Candidates are able to work remote from the following locations (listed in order of customer preference) while not traveling, but please keep in mind this is a travel intensive position 75% - 80%:

1. South Carolina – Majority of team sits in Charleston, SC which is top preference

4. Virginia
5. Maryland
6. Arizona

TEKsystems is currently seeking a Network Engineer to support one of their clients in Charleston, SC. This position will be supporting a DoD contract and will require candidates to currently possess a Secret Clearance.

Candidates will currently be required to travel 75% - 80%. Travel will be CONUS and OCONUS in the future. Candidates must currently reside or be willing to relocate to Charleston, SC.

Job Description:
Candidates will be supporting the network infrastructure for DoD sites worldwide in conducting wired and wireless network survey, design, and installations. Candidate will be responsible for deploying, installing, upgrading, and troubleshooting LAN’s for DoD sites around the world.

Roles and Responsibilities:
The candidate will be expected to perform certain tasks including but not limited to
• Surveying existing networks
• Documenting designs, integrating the design into existing or new infrastructures
• Completing deliverables
• Troubleshooting network issues
• Providing deployment support during installations
• Providing follow-on support

When traveling on site, candidate will be conducting Engineering Services including, but not limited to:
• Product research for new sites
• Proactive planning and site design to be prepared to implement when on site

Technical Skills:
Candidates should have recent hands on experience with the following:
• A minimum of four (4) years of hands on experience with LAN equipment
• Experience with Foundry/Brocade (Ruckus) and/or Juniper technologies
• Experience with Cisco and Aruba enterprise wireless solutions
