Nuclear Medicine Physician Who are we? We are seeking an Nuclear Medicine Physician for T he Department of Veterans Affairs to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, supervising nuclear medicine technologists, and ensuring high-quality patient care. Location : Department of Veterans Affairs, Lexington, KY Job Type : Full-Time Contract Duration : April 1, 2025 - March 31, 2026 (with possible extension up to six months) Overview : Key Responsibilities : * Perform diagnostic procedures including PET scans, SPECT scans, and various radioisotope therapies. * Supervise nuclear medicine technologists in clinical settings. * Handle and oversee the administration of radiopharmaceuticals such as Pluvicto and I131. * Conduct interventional procedures including CT-guided biopsies, drainage tube placements, and angio-guided procedures. * Collaborate with technologists, nursing staff, and physician assistants to provide comprehensive patient care. * Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all procedures and patient interactions. * Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. Qualifications : * Board certification in Nuclear Medicine. * Valid medical license and DEA certification. * Strong background in nuclear medicine procedures and radiopharmaceuticals. * Excellent clinical supervision skills. * Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. * Commitment to providing high-quality patient care. Preferred Experience : * Experience with GE Optima SPECT/CT and GE Discovery PET/CT equipment. * Familiarity with interventional radiology procedures. * Previous experience in a VA or similar healthcare setting. Working Hours : * Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. * Full-time equivalent of 2080 hours per year.
