The Outpatient Clinic RN - Behavioral Health provides services onsite and collaborates with staff and outside agencies in relation to the agency’s Office of Mental Health (OMH) and Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) programs. This position may require providing coverage at both the Buffalo and Jamestown locations. The Outpatient Clinic RN - Behavioral Health will work toward ensuring that the quality and effectiveness of program activities are met.

As part of the essential functions of this role, the Outpatient Clinic RN - Behavioral Health:

• Works in collaboration with internal and external providers, care team, pharmacies, and insurance companies to facilitate patient care
• Streamlines communication between prescribers and internal staff
• Contacts prescribers with any urgent updates
• Schedules patients per clinic guidelines
• Facilitates and leads collaborative multidisciplinary treatment team meetings
• Provides brief counseling for substance users regarding general health and substance use
• Provides comprehensible, billable nursing assessments, groups, and health monitoring follow-up
• Works across both Substance Use and Mental Health Departments
• Provides clinical trainings for newly hired staff
• Provides Complex Care Management activities including assisting in a crisis, coordination of care with other service providers or with any employment, housing, or governmental entities
• Ensures adherence to all required OASAS Complex Care Management regulations, activities, and follows proper billing and documentation protocols
• Other duties as requested

Qualified candidate will be a Registered Nurse in NYS, with BLCLS certification; will have the ability to provide both in-person and telehealth; must be culturally competent and demonstrate concise and professional verbal and written communication skills; be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (with Spanish a plus); demonstrate flexibility, initiative, and ability to work in both independent and group settings, is familiar with computers and Microsoft Office software, and has excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; awareness of and sensitivity to the issues and health disparities faced by underserved populations is essential

Required license: Registered Nurse (RN) in New York State

Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) OR a documented plan to complete a BSN within NYSED's RN BSN requirement timeframe OR Associate degree with degree/license dates meeting NYSED’s exemption requirements

Required certification: BCLS

Required experience: Minimum two (2) years of behavioral health nursing experience; experience in a medication-assisted treatment clinic preferred
