Electrical Power Engineer

The Electrical Power Engineer provides leadership and technical expertise for the engineering, design, procurement, construction, and implementation of electrical systems and equipment. This role emphasizes energy efficiency and electrical distribution, supporting both production and maintenance departments.

Responsibilities:

• Manage medium and low voltage systems.
• Oversee capital projects and improve electrical reliability.
• Collaborate with technical staff, maintenance, and leadership.
• Provide on-call support during plant downtime.
• Work off-shifts or weekends as needed to support 24/7 operations.
• Interpret arc flash and short circuit studies.
• Coordinate with contractors.
• Lead project management activities including budgeting, scheduling, and scope definition.

Essential Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
• At least three years of relevant experience.
• Project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and scope definition.
• Experience with arc flash studies, breaker/fuse coordination, and grounding studies.
• Ability to read and interpret short circuit and arc flash study results.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not required.
• Experience with breaker/fuse coordination and relay work.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to train and learn on the job.

Work Environment:

This role is onsite at a large manufacturing facility, requiring 40+ hours per week with flexibility for check-in times. While primarily daytime hours, off-shift and weekend work may be necessary. On-call support is expected for plant downtime. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided, with safety being a top priority. The environment is collaborative, involving teamwork with both technical and hourly staff.

Job Location:

This position is based out of Bettendorf, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $62.50 - $72.12/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
