Summary

Brighter Futures Child Development Center is seeking a dedicated and passionate SC 4K Lead Teacher to provide high-quality early childhood education in accordance with South Carolina’s First Steps 4K program. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional growth of 4-year-old children.

Duties

• Plan and implement a structured curriculum aligned with South Carolina Early Learning Standards.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes creativity, exploration, and independence.
• Assess student progress and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs.
• Maintain accurate records, including lesson plans, assessments, and attendance.
• Communicate effectively with families to support children’s learning and development.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, staff, and administration to ensure a high-quality program.
• Follow all state licensing regulations and First Steps 4K guidelines.

Requirements

• Education: Must have an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field and must be enrolled and demonstrating progress toward the completion of a teacher education program within four years..
• Experience: Previous experience working with preschool-aged children is preferred.
• Skills: Strong classroom management, communication, and instructional skills.
• Pediatric First Aid CPR AED (must obtain within first 15 days of employment)

Nice To Haves

• Reliable transportation to ensure timely arrival each day.
• Experience with Creative Curriculum or other research-based early childhood programs.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Familiarity with First Steps 4K program requirements.
• Passion for working with young children and a commitment to their growth and success.
• Must be flexible in your schedule
