Hiring for Project Coordinator((Fiber/Ethernet)– Contract Role)

Location: Westfield, MA (Primarily Remote – Local Candidates Preferred)

Work Schedule: Day Shift | Typical start time between 5:00 AM – 7:00 AM

About the Role:

We are seeking a Project Coordinator((Fiber/Ethernet) to support fiber infrastructure projects, with a focus on coordinating work for the Metro Ethernet (MetroE) team. This role plays a vital part in driving fiber work order intake, technician scheduling, and coordinating headend wiring. While construction experience is a plus, it is not required—we’re primarily looking for a strong project coordinator with excellent Excel and Smartsheet skills.

This is a contract role ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, well-organized, and capable of managing multiple workstreams simultaneously. You’ll work remotely, but occasional in-person meetings may be required, so candidates must be local or within a commutable distance to Westfield, MA.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and track project work orders, scheduling, and status for fiber builds.
• Schedule field technicians and manage timelines for headend wiring and other project milestones.
• Collaborate with Fiber Project Managers and MetroE team to ensure smooth project execution.
• Serve as liaison between internal teams, vendors, and other stakeholders.
• Manage and update project schedules using Smartsheet and Excel.
• Monitor and report on project progress, escalating risks or delays as needed.
• Participate in planning meetings, provide status updates, and support milestone tracking.
• Ensure compliance with process standards and drive on-time project completion.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong project coordination or technical project management experience (5–7 years).
• Advanced proficiency in Smartsheet and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work early hours to align with shift expectations (5–7 AM start).
• Comfortable working independently and managing priorities across multiple teams.
• Willingness to come onsite in Westfield, MA as needed for team meetings.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting fiber, Ethernet, or carrier network projects.
• Background in telecommunications, field service coordination, or network installation support.
• Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• This role requires coordination across multiple departments and regular reporting to senior leadership.
