Job Description

Project Engineer – High-End Residential Construction

For over 40 years, Pete Moffat Construction has built a reputation for crafting beautifully designed, durable homes grounded in quality and lasting relationships. Our success is rooted in the trust we’ve earned from clients, trade partners, and team members alike. With deep expertise in building science and a strong commitment to craftsmanship, we create custom residences that stand the test of time.

We foster a collaborative, creative, and supportive environment where team members are encouraged to grow professionally while contributing to work that reflects the highest standards in the industry. If you’re passionate about residential construction and eager to contribute to exceptional, detail-driven projects, we want to hear from you.

About the Role

We are seeking a Project Engineer to support our Project Managers and Site Superintendents in delivering high-end residential projects from pre-construction through final completion. This role is essential to the smooth day-to-day operation of our builds, ensuring accurate documentation, consistent communication, and adherence to schedule and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, organize, and distribute critical project documentation, including change orders, RFIs, submittals, and related records
  • Manage subcontractor documentation and compliance requirements
  • Track, compile, and maintain photo documentation of job progress
  • Assist with procurement: ordering and tracking materials and equipment to align with project timelines
  • Support the preparation of financial reports and cost tracking
  • Compile and distribute OAC (Owner-Architect-Contractor) meeting notes
  • Coordinate project closeout deliverables, including manuals and documentation
  • Provide general support to the project team as needed

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent work experience
  • 1–2 years of experience in construction or project engineering roles; high-end residential experience preferred
  • Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and terminology, with a strong desire to learn and grow. Hands-on field experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with a sharp eye for detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
  • Proficiency with construction management tools (e.g., Autodesk Build, Procore, CoConstruct)
  • Comfortable using Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel/Word, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, DocuSign, Dropbox, and MS Project

Why Join Us

  • Work on custom, architecturally significant residential projects
  • Be part of a team that values craftsmanship, creativity, and continuous learning
  • Grow your career with a company that is committed to building not just homes—but lasting relationships

Salary & Benefits

  • Competitive compensation package
  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)
  • Health insurance and dental reimbursement plan
  • Paid time off and additional holidays
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Discretionary Bonus
