A Brief Overview

Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.

The RN will be responsible for completing Care Coordination calls (follow-up calls) about a week after the patient is discharged. This person will also assist in data collection for several QI initiatives. There will hours to work as a RN on the floor; and will be 1-2 twelve-hour shifts per week night shifts with every 3rd weekend rotation. The administrative hours for Care Coordination and QI initiatives are very flexible.

• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Qualifications

• (BSN) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required) or
• (MSN) Master's Degree in Nursing (Required)

• Knowledge of nursing process and practice. (Required proficiency)
• Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices. (Required proficiency)

• Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required Upon Hire) and
• Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on clinical area standards.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required based on clinical area standards.
