Job Description

Registered Nurse, Wound Care at Community Medical Center summary:

A Registered Nurse specializing in wound care who plans, coordinates, and provides specialized treatment for wounds, ostomy, and continence patients in an outpatient setting. This role involves patient and family education, staff development, and implementation of pressure sore prevention programs. The nurse also supports quality improvement efforts and acts as a resource on best nursing practices in wound care.

Wound Care (RN)

Status/FTE: FT / 0.8-1.0 FTE

Shift length: 8 bours

Start Time: 0700

Unit: Outpatient Wound Care

Schedule Requirements (including weekends, holidays): 8-hour shifts, 4 days a week Mon-Fri but variable days.

Required qualifications:

  • Current state RN License
  • Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider upon hire
  • Wound Care experience
  • Proficient in English, verbal and written communication skills, and computer skills required

Preferred qualifications:

  • BSN Preferred
  • Hyperbaric experience
  • Two (2) to Three (3) years of wound care experience

Additional Information/Department information: The RN will plan, coordinate, and provide specialized wound, ostomy, and continence care along with wound care team including education for patients and families. Serve as a resource person on nursing practice in skin, wound, ostomy, and continence care for the hospital staff and community. Coordinate, implement, and maintain a comprehensive pressure sore prevention program in the hospital. Coordinate comprehensive ongoing education and staff development in all aspects of skin, wound, ostomy and continent care. Help coordinate with measuring outcomes and quality improvement. Assist in development of outreach with wound care
