Job Description

We’re looking to hire an energetic and outgoing host/hostess with outstanding customer service skills. You’ll need excellent communication skills to answer phone inquiries and make reservations. Your main duties include welcoming guests and guiding them to a table that has been cleared and cleaned. You’ll ensure that there are enough seats for the entire party and check that each guest has tableware. Your attire should be professional and neat, with comfortable shoes so you can stand on your feet frequently throughout your shift. Responsibilities: • Handle booking of reservations, be quick to solve seating problems, and troubleshoot any phone inquiries from customers • Make sure dining room tables and chairs are neatly organized at all times and that condiments on the table are restocked if low • Guide diners to their seats and make sure everyone has the correct number of menus, utensils, napkins, and filled water glasses • Acknowledge all customers warmly immediately upon arrival to ensure their first impression of the restaurant is positive • Learn the menu, including the daily specials and accurately describe how dishes are prepared • Take carryout orders and online orders Qualifications: • Some restaurant, hospitality, and/or food services industry experience is preferred • Adapt easily to working in a fast-paced team environment with long hours of standing on feet and moving around • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent GED and should speak English well • Skills needed for this role include excellent people skills, time management, organization skills, and the ability to handle customer requests and situations quickly with a pleasant demeanor Compensation: $12 - $15 hourly • Take carryout orders and online orders Inyo Restaurant
