About our Surgical Unit: 

 

Surgical floor at Mercy Jefferson provides comprehensive, interdisciplinary care to adult surgical patients who require post op surgical care.

 

Our patients include but are not limited to:

• General surgery
• Bariatric surgery
• Total joint replacement
• Fracture repair
• Urological Procedures

 

Potential health care workers who are compassionate, hard-working, flexible, enjoy caring for people from all walks of life, will find working on this unit very rewarding while expanding their clinical knowledge base and enhancing their skills.

Qualifications:

• Required Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited school
• License: current RN license in our state or can be obtained within 90 days 
• Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or can be obtained within 90 days
  • NOTE: One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe
