About Apparatus Contractor Services

Apparatus specializes in precision bookkeeping, payroll, and CFO-level services for construction businesses. We empower builders, contractors, and developers by providing industry-specific financial clarity that improves bidding accuracy, boosts profitability, and supports sustainable growth. Our mission is to help construction entrepreneurs unlock their true potential through our tech-enabled, team-driven approach to financial management.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Associate to lead one of our Construction Accounting Teams. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing both client relationships and internal team members (Analysts and Associates), ensuring the successful delivery of our Construction Advantage Program™.

Senior Associates are at the forefront of client success at Apparatus—they drive financial transformation, ensure service excellence, and play a pivotal role in mentoring team members and growing client accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a portfolio of 20–25 construction industry clients, serving as the primary point of contact and trusted financial partner.

  • Supervise and support a team of Analysts and Associates, ensuring timely, accurate delivery of weekly, monthly, and annual financial outputs.

  • Run weekly Zoom-based Client Check-In™ meetings, providing insight, recommendations, and clarity to clients based on job-costed financials.

  • Oversee implementation and maintenance of revenue recognition models (e.g., Completed Contract, Percentage of Completion, APB WIPAA) across client files.

  • Ensure successful integration with CMS platforms (e.g., Buildertrend, CoConstruct, JobTread, Adaptive, Procore), managing job cost reporting and syncing financial workflows.

  • Manage urgent client triage issues and facilitate smooth transitions through onboarding, repairs, and cleanups (via the Precision Bookkeeping Formula™).

  • Support the development and continuous improvement of internal tools, documentation (PCA Playbook™), and processes to ensure scalable client delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
  • 7+ years of professional accounting or bookkeeping experience, with at least 2 years in a client-facing leadership role.
  • QuickBooks Online Pro-Certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams and complex client relationships.
  • Ability to present and explain financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Experience overseeing project-based accounting workflows and resolving high-stakes client challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of construction accounting, including job costing, payroll allocations, subcontractor billing, and revenue recognition models.

  • Experience with construction management platforms such as Buildertrend, CoConstruct, JobTread, or Procore.

  • Exposure to multi-entity accounting and advanced reporting tools (e.g., cash flow forecasting, backlog tracking, KPI dashboards).

Why Join Apparatus?

  • Lead a team of professionals in delivering high-impact services to construction entrepreneurs.

  • Join a fast-growing, fully remote company with a clear mission and strong operational backbone.

  • Enjoy a flexible work schedule aligned with US Eastern Time, with opportunities for advancement and strategic contribution.

  • Receive a competitive compensation and benefits package tailored to your experience and leadership scope.

  • Work in a values-driven culture that prizes clarity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
