Job Description

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available at a K-12 school in Rochester, MI, for the current school year (CSY) on a contract basis. This role requires a Michigan teaching certification and involves working primarily with students who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and behavioral challenges.

Key responsibilities include managing a caseload of approximately 12 students in grades 4 through 7 within a Moderate Cognitive Impairment (CI) classroom. The candidate will develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs), monitor student progress, and collaborate with school staff and families to support student needs effectively.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Michigan Special Education teaching certification
• Experience working with students with ASD and behavioral issues
• Ability to manage a Moderate CI classroom environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to student-centered instructional strategies and individualized support

This position became available due to a retirement and will begin with the start of the school year on August 25th. The ideal candidate will be prepared to step into a supportive role that fosters academic and social development for students with diverse needs.
