Job Summary The
Survey CAD Technician will be responsible for providing office and field-based survey and GPS support to include construction staking and layout, collection and processing of field data, and preparation of 3D machine control models.
Responsibilities: - Analyze/verify existing site conditions and review survey documents provided by others to ensure accuracy of information used for design and construction.
- Utilize provided survey information to localize construction sites and set appropriate vertical and horizontal control points.
- Perform topographic surveys of construction sites in various stages utilizing a UAV/Drone and/or conventional methods.
- Analyze and process data collected conventionally and with UAV/Drone to produce 3D point clouds.
- Utilize Agtek software to prepare subgrade surface models and perform accurate earthwork estimates.
- Prepare detailed and accurate 3D machine control models to aid in efficient earthwork and grading operations.
- Collaborate with office and field personnel to facilitate machine control integration.
Desired Qualifications: - Associates degree or vocational school education in surveying, computer-aided drafting and design or similar preferred.
- Computer proficient with previous experience on software programs including Agtek, AutoCAD, HCSS, and Propeller desirable.
- Knowledge and previous experience working with standard surveying instruments, Trimble, and Topcon construction equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects at once.
- Exceptional organizational and planning skills.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and drawings.
- General knowledge of site and utility construction surveying principles.
