Responsibilities include but not limited to: Prepares components of the Federal income tax returns for review by Tax Manager and Tax Director. Provides assistance to various members of the Corporate Tax Department with monthly and quarterly tax reporting. Assists with Subsidiary Federal and State Compliance. Assists with calculating tax provision for quarterly financial statements. Assists with conducting research regarding federal and state withholding and tax reporting laws and presents to various members of the Corporate tax department for review and interpretation. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Federal tax law, especially as it relates to life and P&C insurance companies, to calculate tax liability and conduct tax planning. Knowledge of GAAP Tax accounting standards and Statutory SSAP 101. Knowledge of investment topics and taxation of investments (bonds, stocks, and other investments). If you’re in a commutable distance (90 minutes), you’ll join us 3 days each week in our offices to collaborate and build relationships.
