Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with a minimum of 3 years' experience in adult acute care at a Level I trauma, Magnet acute care hospital.

\n \n Responsibilities\n
  • Work in an acute care hospital in an adult echo/cardiac sonography unit
  • Level I trauma center and Magnet hospital
  • Day shifts are four 10-hour shifts from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
  • On-call required 4-5 days per 6-week schedule, with at least one weekend day of call per period
  • No floating within or outside the hospital required
  • Handles adult acute care, adult outpatient, ER, and ICU populations
  • Procedures include 3-D Echo, bubble studies, imaging with contrast agents, M-Mode, pharmacologic and treadmill stress echos, portable studies, and routine echo exams
  • Philips imaging equipment preferred
  • Uses Cerner for charting
  • Performs a broad range of echocardiography procedures for adult patients across acute and critical care settings
  • Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team and participates in clinical best practices at a major trauma hospital
  • Parking permit required with no cost, paperwork completed at orientation
  • Any solid color scrubs may be worn
  • Must complete required health and compliance documentation, modules, and orientation processes
  • Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays if assignment overlaps
  • Ideally no more than 5 days off (RTO) per assignment; more requires facility approval
  • Prior perm or PRN employees of the facility must have a 12-month gap before consideration
  • Locals accepted with no radius restrictions
  • Modules are completed virtually on the first day of assignment

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as an Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer
  • Required experience in adult acute care, adult outpatient, ER, and ICU settings
  • Current ARDMS or CCI certification preferred
  • IL state license in hand required if applicable
  • Experience with 3-D Echo, bubble study, imaging with contrast, M-Mode, pharmacologic and treadmill stress echo, and portable studies required
  • Isolation precaution skills required
  • Cerner experience preferred
  • First-time travelers considered
  • Pending license accepted if requirements met
