Cath Lab and Electrophysiology Imaging Technologist

Assignment Duration

This is a 12-week contract position.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8-hour days. Shifts may be from 7am to 3:30pm or 8am to 4:30pm, with on-call obligations in the evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, totaling 40 hours per week.

Job Description

The position is focused on performing imaging procedures related to electrophysiology (EP) and catheterization (Cath) at a technical level, ensuring patient safety and proper operational protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform imaging procedures competently and independently.


• Ensure proper patient positioning and appropriate radiographic techniques.


• Maintain radiation safety practices and ensure accurate documentation of patient exposure.


• Support aseptic techniques and incorporate a time-out process during procedures.


• Function effectively in the first assist position during procedures.


• Administer contrast solutions as directed by the procedure physician.


• Provide stand-by call coverage as scheduled.


• Maintain point of care testing standards and conduct daily quality control for devices used.


• Communicate instructions to patients clearly and help alleviate their concerns.


• Identify patients properly using two identifiers and review medical histories to ensure optimal procedural outcomes.


• Ensure all images are properly coded, tracked, and archived in the electronic record.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.


• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.


• ARRT Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiology or an equivalent certification.


• Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist certification is also acceptable.
