Prime Time Healthcare Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Devils Lake, North Dakota.

: LDRP / Level I Nursery and OB unit - Float to Medsurg/Peds
Certifications Required: BLS, NRP (Preferred: ACLS, STABLE, TNCC)
NO CLINICAL INVOLVEMENT
- # of L&D Beds: 4
- # of OR Suites on the unit for C-Sections: C-sections are done in the OR. Labor RNs will go down to OR with the patient and then convert over to the baby for stabilization and back to nursery until mom is back-generally in 30-45 min, then recovery will continue on floor for 2 hour recovery
- # of Triage beds: 1
- # of Postpartum beds: 4 use L&D beds
- # of Births per day Month Year: 250 per year
- Do you follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios: 1:2 couplet, then change if laboring
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Preeclampsia, cholestasis of pregnancy, repeat Cesarean sections, stabilize baby for transport
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: Must have Labor and Delivery, Nursery, and some newborn stabilization experience, will float to medsurg/peds
- Are RNs required to titrate drips: Yes
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, amp and gent for babies
- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift Does the charge nurse take an assignment: No - there is a coordinator for the hospital and some days an OB coordinator that can help out
- Are there nurse aids/surgical techs on this unit Duties: No
- OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7: No - we are a level I nursery
- Anesthesia in house 24/7: Anesthesia is on call and within a few blocks of the hospital
- RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot: Nasal cannula, some CPAP
- Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit Are RNs required to read their own strips What brand are the tele monitors: On rare occasion, but it is the doctors responsibility
- EFM System: GE corometrics
- Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling Block scheduling): 0645-1915, 1845-0715 // Self scheduling, will fill in schedule where there is a need
- Weekend Requirements: Will fill in where there is a need
- Holiday Requirements: If there is a need will work holidays
- Floating Requirements: Will float to medsurg /peds and occasionally to ER if comfortable
- Scrub Color/Dress code: Navy
- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation: 1 week
- Additional Notes: This unit is friendly with good teamwork between doctors and nurses. Attributes that help a nurse be successful in this unit include hard working, easy going, team oriented, good communication skills
Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
