Travel RN – PCU | Night Shift | 13-Week Contract
Location: Asheville, NC
Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (3x12s)
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Start Date: ASAP

 

Travel pay rate: $23/hr W2 (Taxable) +$1400 Non-Taxable Stipend Travel Rate= Weekly Gross Pay: $2228

 

Position Overview:
Join a dedicated Progressive Care Unit serving both PCU and ICU overflow patients. This 10-bed unit operates with a high-acuity focus, requiring experienced nurses confident in ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and advanced pharmacology. Ideal for adaptable, critical-thinking RNs ready to contribute to a collaborative and fast-paced team.

Unit Details:

• Unit Name: D3-A (PCU/ICU Overflow)
• Bed Count: 10
• Ratios: 2:1 for ICU, 4–5:1 for PCU
• Staffing Model: 1 Charge RN + 5 Staff RNs (No techs or secretaries)
• EMR: Cerner
• Equipment: Lift assist, TTM, IV pumps, ventilators
• Scheduling: Every other weekend required; holiday support required
• Floating: Required to float based on hospital need

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage critically ill patients in both ICU and PCU settings
• Perform ventilator and hemodynamic monitoring
• Administer and titrate vasoactive medications, IV sedatives, and paralytics
• Assist with bedside procedures (e.g., intubation, chest tube insertion)
• Perform nurse leader rounding when serving as relief charge

Required Experience:

• Medical ICU experience in a large facility
• Advanced critical care skills including ventilator and pharmacology management
• Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and clinical judgement

Certifications Required:

• BLS
• ACLS

Dress Code:

• Navy blue or white scrubs required
